Clean the hole from chips. Then use a rubber mallet to drive the plastic pin into the wood with the hook facing down. Pass the metal wire of the lid through the pin, connecting the two. Hang the sap collection container on the pin hook, leave on the tree with the lid closed. When the sap loses its clarity or when the leaves of the tree begin to bloom, the hole should be closed with a wooden pin. At the end of the season, use a hardwood branch of the appropriate diameter (7-8 mm) for the pin. The pin should be inserted in the place of the hole and driven all the way with a rubber hammer, the excess length should be cut off. We recommend that you look at the tree after a couple of weeks and make sure that it has not pushed out the pin. If the pin is pushed out, reseal the hole with a hardwood branch.
